Android phones and tabs
There are different types of software for each brand of Android device. As a result, the same method of taking screenshots may not work on every Android phone. However, many Android phones have the advantage of taking a screenshot by pressing the Power Button + Volume Down Key together.
Some Android phones have a screenshot option in the notification or quick access panel (where there are shortcuts to turn WiFi and mobile data on / off). Also, if Google Assistant or Bixby works properly on the phone, screenshots can be taken using these smart assistants.
Some Android phones also have three-finger screenshot gestures, where screenshots appear when three fingers swipe together on the screen. This feature will be seen on many phones including Xiaomi and Realme. Xiaomi phone screenshot is done by pulling down from the top of the screen with three fingers.
Since Android tabs are powered by the same operating system, screenshots can be taken in the same way as phones.
IPhone and iPad
For iPhones that do not have a home button, such as iPhone 10, 11, 12, or 13, you can take a screenshot by pressing Power Butoon + Volume Up Key together.
If you have a home button on your iPhone, then press the Sleep / Wake Button + Home Button together, you will see the camera shutter and screen flash and the screenshot will appear. Screenshots are saved in the Gallery's Screenshots album.
Using the Apple Pencil with the iPad, you can easily take screenshots using the drawing tool. The screen can be captured by swiping up from the bottom corner with Apple Pencil. In this case either the full screen or the current window can be saved as a screenshot.
However, taking screenshots in some apps is quite difficult. In that case the built-in screen recording tool can come in handy. Although it is mainly used to record screens and make videos, it is possible to use it to record videos and take screenshots from there.
Windows 10
The easiest way to take a screenshot in Windows 10 is to press the PrtScn / Print Screen key. This button can be seen in the upper section on most keyboards. After taking a screenshot by pressing this key, you can paste the screenshot by pressing Ctrl + V. If you take a screenshot by pressing the print screen button, it is first copied to the clipboard. It is not automatically saved as an image file anywhere. However, if you want, you can open Microsoft Paint or another program and paste the image and save it.
The problem with this feature is that it captures screenshots of the entire screen. So if you have more than one monitor or if you want to take a screenshot of a specific part of the screen, the feature is not very useful. If you press Alt Key + Print Screen Key together, you will see a tool that looks like the picture below. You can take screenshots of your choice using this tool.
It is also possible to take screenshots using the Snip & Sketch program. Searching Windows or pressing Shift Key + Windows Key + S Key together will launch the program.
Windows 10 also has a gaming bar feature to record gaming sessions. This gaming bar can be seen by pressing Windows Key + G Key together. From here, users can take screenshots or record screens of their choice.
Windows 11
Screenshots can be taken by pressing Alt Key + PrtSc Key together on a computer running Windows 11 . You can also take a screenshot by pressing Windows Key + PrtSc Key together which will be saved in Pictures> Screenshots directory.
Although the name of the gaming bar has been changed to Xbox gaming bar, if you still press Windows Key + G Key together, this gaming bar will be seen in Windows 11. You can also take a screenshot by pressing Windows Key + Alt Key + PrtSc together without opening the gaming bar.
For those who are using a Microsoft Surface tablet, taking screenshots is much easier. Just by pressing the Volume Up Button + Power Button together, screenshots can be taken on the Microsoft Surface tablet.
Mac
After the release of Mac OS Mohavi, Mac users get multiple options to take screenshots. You can take a screenshot by pressing Command + Shift + 5 Key together on Mac. Also Launchpad> Other> Screenshot via the Mac screen.
Those who want to take screenshots on Mac using keyboard shortcuts can capture the full screen by pressing Command + Shift + 3 together. Also pressing Command + Shift + 4 together will bring up a crosshair, which can be used to take screenshots of specific parts of the screen.
Linux
There are a number of ways to take screenshots in Linux. To take a screenshot on an Ubuntu based Linux device, select the Screenshot option from the Activities menu . You can then select the entire screen or a specific part of the screen to take screenshots.
Screenshots can also be taken on Linux using the Print Screen button. Screenshots can be taken by pressing Alt Key + Print Screen Key . You can also take a screenshot of a specific part of the screen by pressing Shift + Print Screen Key together.
Apple Watch
To take a screenshot on the Apple Watch, you first need to turn on the feature. To turn on this feature, open the Watch app on the iPhone and turn on the Enable Screenshots feature by entering My Watch> General. Then enter the watch's settings, enter General and turn on the feature.
After turning on the screenshot feature, swipe up the screen to capture the screen of the Apple Watch. Screenshots can also be taken by pressing the side button and digital crown simultaneously. Note that this screenshot will be saved on your iPhone, not your watch.
Chromebook
Those who use Chromebooks can use the Show Windows Key to take screenshots. It can be seen at the top of the keyboard, so that key markings like image boxes can be seen. Shift + Ctrl + Show Windows key can be pressed together to take a screenshot of the entire screen or any part of the screen.
If you use a separate keyboard in Chromebook then show Windows or not. In this case you can take a full screen by pressing Ctrl + F5 Key and a screenshot of a specific part of the screen by pressing Ctrl + Shift + F5 .
