Bangladeshi E-Passport Verification Stages and FAQs

Applied for a new passport? The required time has crossed, still haven't got your passport? 

If you send SMS for checking status, the answer is Pending for Passport Personalization or Pending for Backend Verification. What should you do in such a situation?  What do these stages means? Let's learn about the Bangladeshi e-passport stages that you may encounter. You can aslo learn the meaning of various Bangladesh e-passport application status.

1. Payment verification result - Name Mismatch: 

There are inconsistencies in the spelling of the name deposited in your bank and the spelling of the name written in the passport form. Quickly contact the passport office with your passport receipt, birth registration / photocopy of national identity card. 

2. Your application is pending on payment investigation (Amount mismatch or reference number mismatch). 

Inconsistencies have been found in the amount of money deposited in your bank and the amount of money written in the passport form or the number of the money receipt deposited in the bank. Quickly contact the passport office with your passport receipt. Note that for general passport deposit of BDT 3450 and for emergency passport BDT 6,900 has to be done. This problem can be seen by writing more or less of this amount. 

 

3. Pending for police approval: 

Your application is awaiting a police verification report. If the applicant's current address and permanent address are different, additional time may be required to investigate both addresses.

4. Pending for Assistant Director / Deputy Director Approval: 

Passport documents are checked by an Assistant Director / Deputy Director rank officer. It will look like this until it is approved. This step takes 5/6 days to complete. However, after more than three weeks, you will understand that your police verification report has not yet reached the passport office, so it is not being approved by the Assistant Director / Deputy Director.

5. Pending for Backend Verification: 

Your passport will be sent to the printing branch in Dhaka, so all the information is being reconciled. It usually takes 1 or 2 working days.

6. Pending for Passport Personalization: 

This step is divided into many parts. Such as - Laser Engraving, HD DOD Color Inkjet Printing, Security Lamination, Inline Quality Control (Optical / Electronic), RFID Encoding. This process takes 3/5 working days or more depending on the availability of the required devices and materials.

7. In Printer Queue: 

Your passport is waiting to be printed at the printing branch. Passport takes 2/3 working days or more, subjected to number of passport book storage and operation of the device.

8. Printing Succeeded: 

Your passport has been successfully printed and is being sent to the Quality Control Branch for monitoring.

9. QC Succeeded, Ready for Dispatch: 

After successful printing, your passport book is being checked by the Quality Control Branch to see if there are any printing errors. After everything is fine in this step your passport is ready to be sent to the applied office.

10. Passport is Ready, Pending for Issuance: 

It takes 4/5 working days to reach the district level offices by adding passport mail from Passport Printing Branch of Dhaka. The passports are then ready for distribution. In the meantime, an SMS is sent to the applicant's mobile phone to collect the passport. However, if you have not received the SMS, please wait another 2/3 working days.

১। আমার NID card এ মা বাবার নাম এর সাথে বাবা মা এর NID CARD নাম ভুল। এক্ষেত্রে কি করা উচিত।? (My NID Card mismatch my parents' names with their NID card. What Should I do?)

৩। এস.এম.এস (SMS) আসেনি কিন্তু ওয়েবসাইটে ইপাসপোর্টে Passport is Ready, Pending for Issuance দেখাচ্ছে। আমি কি কালেক্ট করতে পারবো? (I didn't receive any SMS to collect my E-passport, but in Portal it shows Passport is Ready, Pending for Issuance. Can I collect it in this condition? 

- জ্বি। পরবর্তীদিন দুপুরের পর যে কোনো সময় গেলেই আপনার পাসপোর্ট সংগ্রহ করতে পারবেন। 

৪। ই-পাসপোর্টের জন্য অনলাইনে এন্ট্রি করার পর কতদিন পর বায়োমেট্রিকের তারিখ দেবে? (After e-passport enrollment how many days I have to wait for biometric enrollment?)

- তারিখ আপনি নিজেই শিডিউল অনুসারে ওয়েবসাইট থেকে নির্বাচন করতে হবে। এটি এলাকাভেদে ১ দিন থেকে ৬ মাসও হতে পারে। তবে ইমারজেন্সি পাসপোর্ট করালে খুব ব্যস্ত পাসপোর্ট অফিসেও ১৫ দিনের মধ্যেই ছবিতোলার শিডিউল পাওয়া সম্ভব। 

৫। আমি এক জেলায় থাকি, আরেক জেলায় রিজিওনাল পাসপোর্ট অফিসে পাসপোর্টের জন্য আবেদন করতে পারবো কি?  কোথায় আবেদন করা সুবিধাজনক? (I stay in a different zilla than my permanent address. Can I apply from my present locations' regional passport office?)

- অবশ্যই পারবেন। কিন্তু এক্ষেত্রে পুলিশ ভেরিফিকেশন আপনার নিজ এলাকা এবং বর্তমান এলাকা দুই জায়গাতেই হবে। এতে দুইবার পুলিশি ঝামেলায় পরতে হবে। নিজ এলাকায় (যেখানে আপনার স্থায়ী ঠিকানা) করালে একবার পুলিশ ভেরিফিকেশনেই সব ঝামেলা শেষ। 

৬। স্থায়ী ঠিকানায় পাসপোর্টের আবেদন না করে বর্তমান ঠিকানায় পাসপোর্টের আবেদন করলে পুলিশ ভেরিফিকেশন কি ২ বার করতে হবে? (If I apply for e-passport from present address which is different from my permanent address, do I have to attain police verification for 2 times?) 

- এক্ষেত্রে পুলিশ ভেরিফিকেশন আপনার নিজ এলাকা এবং বর্তমান এলাকা দুই জায়গাতেই হবে। এতে দুইবার পুলিশি ঝামেলায় পরতে হবে। পুলিশ এসে চা নাস্তার জন্য ৫০০ টাকা পর্যন্ত চাইতে পারে। 

৭। পাসপোর্ট রিনিউ করার সময় নাম সংশোধন করা যাবে? (Can I update my information i.e. name, fathers name, mothers name, DOB etc. during application for e-passport renewal?)

- হ্যাঁ যাবে। তবে এক্ষেত্রে প্রমাণ স্বরূপ কোনো ডকুমেন্ট (এন.আই.ডি, সার্টিফিকেট, জন্ম নিবন্ধন ইত্যাদি) দাখিল করা যেতে পারে। 

৮। অনলাইনে E-Passport এর জন্য কিভাবে আবেদন করতে হয়? (How to apply for e-passport online?)

৯। ই-পাসপোর্ট করতে কি কি ডকুমেন্টস প্রয়োজন? (What are the documents required for application of e-passport?)

- nid/birth certificate (২০ বছরের বেশি হলে NID থাকা বাধ্যতামূলক)
